vancouver
Vancouver is a vibrant coastal city in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by beautiful British Columbia Mountains. The city has a rich multicultural background with strong ties to Asia, resulting in diverse cuisine and cultural activities. Vancouver is a young and active city where people take full advantage of the accessible beaches, ocean and mountains for fun and adventure. The weather is remarkably mild, with a long spring/summer season that doesn’t get too hot, and relatively warm and drippy fall/winter when snow conveniently avoids the city, but drops heavily in the nearby mountains.
The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is just south of the city and both downtown and UBC can be easily navigated by taxi, public bus or ski-train.
